About Us
Geoffrey P. Davis moved to Roanoke Rapids with his family in 1993. He graduated from Roanoke Rapids High School in 2000, and received his undergraduate BA from Campbell University in Buies Creek, North Carolina. In 2007, he earned his J.D. from the Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law at the University of Memphis.
Geoffrey promptly passed the North Carolina State Bar Exam and returned to Halifax County, where he was hired by District Attorney Bill Graham as an assistant district attorney. After two years as a prosecutor in Halifax County, Geoffrey went to work with Gilbert Chichester at Chichester Law Office in Roanoke Rapids. Geoffrey practiced law with Gilbert Chichester for 13 years, and opened his own office upon Mr. Chichester’s death.
Geoffrey has practiced in trial courts across North Carolina, and at the Court of Appeals in Raleigh. He has represented clients in criminal cases charged with everything from a simple speeding infraction to serious felonies like sexual assault and first-degree murder. Over his career, he has taken hundreds of driving while impaired (DWI / DUI) cases to trial. Geoffrey has also spoken at public seminars on the process of expunctions, and has successfully restored the firearms rights of individuals throughout the Roanoke Valley area.
Since 2019, Geoffrey has served as attorney for the City of Roanoke Rapids. He also serves as attorney for Halifax Community College, and is a past president of both the Seventh Judicial District Bar and the Halifax County Bar Association.
Geoffrey lives in Roanoke Rapids with his wife, who owns and operates the Music School of Roanoke Rapids on the Avenue.
